We all live in a connected world. But are we really connected to the ones who matters a lot? It is not startling that in our busy life, we are almost disconnected with people residing in our society or even neighbourhood. But technology has a solution for everything, almost. This is why when Ms. Sakshi Sureka (Managing Director) and Mrs.Poonam Khowala (Chief Executive – Customer Relations) saw this huge societal gap, they decided to take their already existing company Remindnmore.com to another level to address this concern. Emerging as the version 2.0 and rechristened as Societynmore, the company created a hyper local network within a society/neighbouring societies to bring likeminded people together either to address any common cause or to synergize on common interest of members. The company has been able to change the way society are managed traditionally by introducing the online technology supported by value added service by its team of experts.

 

The New Version and Vision

As remindernmore, the company enabled users to host/organize events on its portal and communicate privately or in a group besides general reminder services for other tasks. But with time, users started asking for more features related to society. Post analysing the market, the duo concluded that there were very few players in this segment and their service wasn't meeting the expectations of members. Hence, they gradually started to revamp their system bottom up based on user's requirements and industry best practices. "Meeting diverse user requirements and building system that is truly user friendly while still versatile and powerful enough to allow control over most of the elements, were the main challenges we faced," says Poonam.

 

Overcoming all initial hiccups of a startup, like hunting for good talent, few months back, Societynmore launched its mobile application in iOS and Android platforms with rich features like gatekeeper which caters visitor management and "book a service" which enables quick booking for household service requirements like plumber, carpenter etc. The application is targeted towards facilitating various options to actualise the objectives of its mission – making society management truly mobile and accessible. Today, the company offers a spectrum of services extending from society management services to society consulting, accounting, RFQ for shortlisting vendors, gatekeeper service for society security, and an integrated marketplace to create a hyper local network within a society or within neighbouring societies. To further accentuate its customers, the company has created an internal knowledge management system that accumulates knowledge articles on anything related to the societies. "All laws and acts are kept updated over there. We also provide access to this to our clients through web and mobile," explains Sakshi.   

 

The All-in-one ERP Package

This online society management solution is a complete ERP package for society and includes features like automated accounting, management of invoice, tenant & vendor management, parking management, staff & facility management, meeting management, forum for discussion, polls & surveys, hosting and organizing events, issuing notices, and document management (both society related and personal), book a service, and gatekeeper for visitor management. Its system automatically generates all the statutory registers like I register, J register, Shares Register, Asset Register  for society. Furthermore, services like auditing and service tax/TDS returns to help societies close their books of accounts are the add-ons. After using Societynmore's services, most of the societies wanted it to be their sole vendor who can provide them end-to-end services like accounting, management and others. To be able to do so, Societynmore tied up with companies who provide management personnel and other ancillary services, allowing it to focus on its core online society management solution. 

 

The startup has added levels of customization options to emerge as the most responsive firm to users' suggestions. For instance, it has the most flexible and customizable interest computation module which it has built over the time by taking into account user requirements from different societies. The company also offers accounting package specifically designed for the society where most of the entries are automated by system and is designed so effectively that even a non-accountant can use the system easily with very little learning curve. Furthermore, Societynmore is also in the process of incorporating recently released UPI based payment technology which will allow users to make payment through UPI enabled Banks resulting in time and cost savings. It also has a 'Buzzar' section which is an online marketplace for societies. 

 

Growing Further

Societynmore so far has grown completely organically and is funded internally. Such financial independence   has let its wings free and it is now all geared up for both organic and inorganic growth opportunities. With commitment to innovate and evolve its products and services, the company will continue to target flagship societies. In the future, it is looking forward to bring the members of society who belong to same interest group together on one platform, provide more accessibility to members to reach out to their fellow members and create a hyper local network of people towards building a common-place for communication for all purpose towards United Society-town-country framework. 

 

Societynmore is planning to introduce an e-learning portal for members and host events for waste management, introduction of solar power at societies and other social cause oriented events for building greener society. "We would like to establish Local Area Network which will act as society of societies and it will help members of local area in management of local facilities and complaints," concludes Sakshi.
